Questions.
Why isn’t it on the Mac App Store?
Yosei gives your Mac a display of its own and installs a microphone your Mac can use, two things Mac App Store apps can’t do. So it comes from here, signed and notarized by Apple, and it keeps itself up to date.
What does it send, and where?
Nothing to us. There’s no account, and your Mac talks to your iPhone or iPad directly, over a cable, your Wi‑Fi or Tailscale, encrypted end to end. Only devices you’ve paired can connect.
Can I get it from my iPhone or iPad?
Yes. In Yosei on your iPhone or iPad, Set Up a Mac sends this page to your Mac by AirDrop, Messages or Mail. With the same Apple Account, Handoff puts it in your Mac’s Dock.
How do I remove it?
In Yosei’s Settings, remove the Yosei Microphone under Sound and turn off Open at login. Then quit Yosei and move it to the Trash.
